Seeing Clearly

This scene is fairly straightforward, with one exception: The two bottles were depicted in front of an existing photo of a piece of pecan pie. It was important that what was seen through the clear bottle was accurate. 

To achieve this, we brought the photo of the pie and the bottom red banner into the CG environment and placed them behind the bottles. They were then sized and positioned to match the angle and perspective of the final composite. Subtle changes needed to be made to the refractive index of the clear CG syrup to come up with an accurate and visually acceptable result.
