Developing a City for the Future

The University Park Alliance (UPA) is a nonprofit development group dedicated to the transformation of a 50-block area in downtown Akron, Ohio. Throughout the video, you'll see animations of where buildings and neighborhoods are planned.

This video combined all of our studio’s capabilities, including video, photography, editing, motion graphics and animated computer-generated images that motion track the video.  Due to the project timeline, many of these processes were going on simultaneously between our departments. We even had to turn into architects to design the buildings that rise up in the various development districts.

Our extensive helicopter footage was constantly challenged by Northeast Ohio’s inclement spring weather, forcing us to shoot only days before the video was presented at a UPA event.
